The municipal corporation’s proposed elevated corridor at Maharana Pratap Chowk, MG Road is likely to get government approval in a week’s time. The move comes after a high level meeting in Chandigarh, recently.

The MCG had sent a detailed project report (DPR) for the government approval three months ago that met some objections from the top brass.
"We hope approval to the DPR from the head office in a week time," said BS Singroha, chief engineer, MCG.
According to a source, the head office had pointed out some calculation errors in the DPR.
They were regarding shifting of existing sewer and water pipelines electric cables, poles among others. “It is a three-layer (underpass-surface-flyover) and R100 crore project, the Haryana government is keen on eliminating all minus points in a way to minimise risk factors and cost escalation,” said the source.
The project would help easing traffic flow between Iffco Chowk and Signature Tower and Northern Peripheral Road (NPR).
