The project is scheduled to complete in 18 months, for which construction work will start in a few days.

The government’s nod is believed to have come with an eye on the assembly and Parliament elections coming up next year.

The Sohna Road, which is considered to be the next MG Road of the city, has numerous malls, office complexes and beautiful residential buildings.

The flyover after completion is expected to ease the traffic mess on the Sohna Road between Rajiv Chowk and Badshahpur. It will also help in decongesting the stretch between the Huda City Centre and Hero Honda Chowk.

“The 600-metre flyover will complete by September-October next year. We have asked the contractor not to delay the project as it is the need of the hour and the chief minister is personally monitoring the project,” said a senior Huda official.

Besides, another flyover proposed by the government is likely to come up between the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) and Sohna Road intersection near Badshahpur.

These two flyovers are expected to solve the perennial traffic problem by 80% in New Gurgaon and bring a change in traffic management.
