Following a meeting with the secretary of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA), Dalbir Singh, Link Utsav Registration Plates Limited proposed to notify dates of affixing the plates in advance.

According to decisions taken earlier, other measures to speed up the process will include setting up of four new cash collection centres and eight new affixation centres in different parts of Gurgaon.

The agency will employ at least 35 new staff members at various centres and a report will be submitted regarding the same by July 2, within 15 days from the day of the meeting.

“We have told the RTA that we will mention the date of affixing the number plates on the authority slip itself for the convenience of vehicle owners. This is to avoid confusion among residents regarding affixation dates. Often, the HSRPs are ready but the owners are not available,” said Mukesh Malhotra, operations head, Link Utsav Registration Plates Limited, Gurgaon.

The decision came in the wake of several complaints being made to the RTA by vehicle owners regarding inordinate delays in affixing HSRPs. The RTA had also sent written complaints, including at least thrice to the state transport commissioner, in the past six months about the inefficiency of the agency staff.
