Hindustan Times has been reporting every development regarding the proposed flyover which is likely to bring relief to tens of thousands of commuters using MDI Chowk rotary and it will also aid the traffic police.

“As the drawing has been approved, the next stage now involves preparing estimates, structural landscape, drainage, tunnel, rotary and flyover details, etc. Things will move fast now,” said a spokesperson of Mathur and Associates.

Utilities like transformers, road and traffic signage, electrical transmission lines and poles, sewer lines, trees and a few other things are likely to be removed to make way for the flyover. “We are likely to write to all the concerned departments such as Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitaran Nigam (DHBVN), the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda), the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) and the forest department,” a senior PWD official said. The development has come a week after fresh site survey conducted to ascertain the physical layout of the proposal by the PWD officials.

“The 1-km-long flyover will be Gurgaon’s first 6-lane flyover and it is expected to bring permanent relief to traffic regulators in the future,” said NK Tomar, executive engineer, PWD.
