Gurgaon: questions remain; missing bullets the key, say experts

Although it was initially dubbed as a case of tragic suicide by the mother of two, it still remains to be answered as to how and why she had landed dead in a remote corner of the Police Lines parade ground.

The parade ground is usually thronged by scores of people at the time when she was found dead — at 5 in the evening.

The police said children were playing around the crime scene, but surprisingly nobody heard the three gunshots that killed her.

Also, all the three bullet shells are still untraceable. Experts said at least one or two were certainly to be found nearby if she was killed at that spot.

The bullet wounds are contact-range wounds so the bullets exited the body and should have been found, but despite employing metal detectors and sniffer dogs the bullets shells are nowhere to be found.

The injuries on Geetanjali’s body were vascular which would have exuded a lot of blood.

Experts say the amount of blood at the crime scene and the trajectory of the bullets can be helpful in deciding whether the victim died at that spot or the body was planted there.

Moreover, the head injury which she sustained is isolated and inconsistent with the absence of any other associated injury mark. This suggests that the injury was not from a fall.
