Several marble traders operating from Sikanderpur area had moved court against the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda), accusing the authority of not following rules in allocating the alternative plots to them at Sector 33/34 in 2004.

As per direction from the government, Huda created a dedicated space at Sector 33/34 to rehabilitate marble dealers of the city.

Several marble dealers claimed they were ignored and did not get plots, while several others alleged that Huda did not maintain transparency in plot allocations.

In 2004, Huda had allotted plots to as many as 150 marble dealers who had been running their business from different locations, including Sikandarpur and Sheetla Mata Road.
