If they don’t comply, they will lose plots in Sector 34 allotted by Huda as a trade off for Sikandarpur land.

According to officials, the Sikandarpur market land belongs to the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG), which had leased it out to marble dealers for five years.

The lease agreement expired in 2005. Although the owners were given alternative plots at Sector 34 developed by the Huda in 2005, many of the shops did not move and obtained stay from the Punjab and Haryana High Court, alleging mismanagement in allotments of Huda plots.

While speaking to media on Wednesday, Huda administrator Praveen Kumar said the traders were taking undue advantage of the court order.

He directed estate officer (EO-2) Manoj Khatri to issue the cancellation of plots order to the defaulters.

As per Huda and MCG lists, some 45 marble traders are currently holding up plots at both the sites. Through the notice, the traders have been asked to vacate the Sikandarpur shops or else the Huda-allotted Sector 34 plots will be taken back.

The administrator and MCG commissioner Sudhir Rajpal recently met and decided to dispose the case at the earliest.

The MCG in the last one year has written three times to the administrator, urging him to issue plot cancellation letters.

“The administrator has assured us that he is issuing plot cancellation notice to those traders who are illegally running businesses from both the sites,” said the commissioner.

The MCG, on the other hand, has sealed four shops of traders who did not get the court stay, but were still occupying plots at the Sikandarpur market.

“There are few more shops which are running without the stay order. I have directed officials to identify such shops and initiate action,” he added.
