Job racket: suspects continue with their ‘business’

Even as police have registered a case against the suspects for allegedly sending bogus e-mails to job seekers offering them jobs in Ericsson company in DLF City Phase 2, the suspects continue to run their business.

It was found after an HT reporter contacted one of the suspects on their mobile phone as a decoy job aspirant and the latter offered her a number of job options in various IT companies.

When the HT reporter spoke to the agent and asked for a job at Ericsson, he offered a job at Voice phone company, instead of Ericsson, and asked for R5,000 as joining fees. When asked about interview, the agent told her not to come to office as it would be a telephonic interview and an appointment letter would be sent through mail.

A fraud case was registered at DLF City Phase 2 police station against unknown persons by Sandeep Pal, HR director of Ericsson India Private Ltd (EIL) on Thursday. According to Pal, a senior officer of the company received an email, which was a reply to the appointment letter sent to an woman engineer in Bangalore. The case is being investigated by the economic offences wing of Gurgaon police.
