Man arrested for cheating people at ATM kiosks by swapping cards

According to the city police, Singh used to swap the ATM cards with fake ones on the pretext of helping people withdraw money. He would, later, use the original cards to withdraw cash from the same ATM.

The police arrested Singh after one of the victims, Jitender Singh Yadav, was duped of Rs 15,000 at a Punjab National Bank ATM in Dundahera. Yadav, a resident of Lucknow, works at a private firm in Okhla, New Delhi.

“The victim withdrew Rs 2,500 from a Punjab National Bank ATM at Dundahera in Gurgaon. Before he could end the transaction, the accused pushed him aside, saying he had been waiting for long and that it was his turn now,” the police said.

A few minutes later, Yadav received a message on his phone that Rs 15,000 was debited from his savings account. He called the nearby police control room and a team from the Udyog Vihar police station reached the spot.
