Man held in Manesar for sodomising minor

A 30-year-old employee of a car manufacturing company was on Wednesday arrested for allegedly sodomising an eight- year-old boy living in his neighbourhood.

The alleged incident took place on Monday but the boy was too scared to report the matter to his family members, the police said.

The incident came to light only when a teacher at his school noticed that he was upset and questioned him.

The parents of the child were immediately informed about the incident by the teacher and they approached the police. The accused was arrested on Wednesday evening from his rented accommodation in Manesar village, the police said.

The accused has been identified as Anil Pal, a native of Kanpur. He sodomised the boy on Monday evening, said inspector Jagdish Prasad, station house officer of the Manesar police station.

The boy lives in Manesar village along with his parents. He was playing outside his house on Monday evening when Pal took him to his house on the pretext of giving him chocolates, the police said. He then sodomised him there, the police said.

The accused has been booked under Section 377 (unnatural offences) of the Indian Penal Code and also under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act), 2012.

Meanwhile, the boy was sent to a civil hospital for a counseling session so he is able to get over the trauma.

According to the police, the child is feeling much better after attending the counseling session.

“The student was sent to the civil hospital for a counseling session. He is feeling much better now,” said inspector Jagdish Prasad.

“Since the incident took place while he was playing outside his house, he is too scared to step out of the house,” he added.
