Shuvendu Patnaik, vice-president, Secure Meters Limited, and a resident of Sector 14, filed a complaint in this regard at the Civil Lines police station on Wednesday.

“I received a call on Saturday informing me about the launch of a health scheme. The scheme included a green card for cashless health treatment by doctors and hospitals. Four members of a family would be covered under this scheme for Rs. 5,000 in the first year and Rs. 2,500 for the second year,” said Patnaik.

He further added, “The scheme claimed that Rs. 60,000 vouchers per year would be given to the family for medical tests. The money would be refunded if I am not satisfied with the service.”

Patnaik is not the only one, but many have fallen prey to the scheme.

Patnaik paid the said amount through credit card to a private health company in two transactions. When he checked it on the website he could not find any information.
