MCG complains against sikanderpur marble Traders

The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) has lodged a complaint at the DLF-1 police station against 19 Sikanderpur marble traders for tampering with the seized marbles. These traders have been barred to tamper with the marble seized by the authorities in January this year. Dhananjay Jha reports.

The authorities have to sell the seized marbles through an open auction.

Nearly 24 hours after lodging of a complaint, the police did not file an FIR till 8pm on Tuesday.

“We have received a complaint against the marble traders on Monday evening but we have not yet lodged an FIR against them,” said Veer Singh, SHO, DLF-1 police station, adding that he did not get time to see into merit of the complaint.

MCG Commissioner, Sudhir Rajpal has termed the police act callous and negligent.

“The police should have immediately lodged an FIR soon after the traders removed the seized marbles in the night. We have seized the marbles, which were lying on the MCG land,” said Rajpal.

These traders were using MCG land despite corporation’s repeated warning and notices.

However, the DLF police are yet to determine whether these traders have flouted MCG rules or not, but the MCG commissioner is shocked with the attitude of the police and traders.
