“We do not have much idea about the plan of widening lanes and construction of subways. But the demand still stands,” said Rajiv Yadav, member administration, NHAI. He refused to give details of the project.

The NHAI has been demanding land for widening of service lanes and subways along the expressway to ease traffic.

Chief administrator of Huda DPS Nagal had said, “There is no merit in the NHAI’s demand for land along the elevated corridor of the expressway. Will they widen service lanes at the cost of developed green belts? The NHAI should first prepare a clear-cut plan.”

Nagal had questioned that how would the NHAI use land along the five flyovers. A high level meeting is scheduled for February 17 in this regard.

In a latest meeting held with NHAI, DGSCL and Huda, Gurgaon police commissioner KK Sindhu had raised the issue.

“We have discussed the need for service lanes and cloverleaves and loop lanes with the officials. But they did not show any interest,” said Gurgaon deputy commissioner of police (traffic), Bharti Arora.
