The residents said about 25 men pushed women and elderly residents at the condominium’s gate while trying to enter the society forcibly.

On Saturday, the residents had forcibly removed the builder’s security guards and took charge of the entire management of the colony. They alleged that they were fed up with the builder’s arbitrary attitude. The builder is increasing monthly maintenance charge but yet to initiate the process of transferring the colony’s maintenance to the RWA.

The residents had also staged a protest in front of the builder’s corporate office for three hours on MG Road.

The residents said they would not pay monthly maintenance to the Perfect Facility Management Private Limited — the company looking after the maintenance of Orchid Petals condominium and a sister company of Orchid Infrastructure Developers Private Limited (OIDPL).

The situation could be controlled only after the police’s intervention. A complaint has been lodged with the Sadar police station.

According to the residents, the group of men which tried to barge inside was led by senior officials of the developers.

Pankaj Bijoria, the chief financial officer of the Orchid Infrastructure Developers Private Limited, was picked up by the police but released later.

“The police seem to have acted under pressure,” alleged a resident, adding that many residents were meeting senior town planner (STP) RK Singh at the time of scuffle.

Bijoria told HT, “It was their security guards who engaged in fighting with our men who just wanted to enter the colony to take care of unsold flats as per an earlier agreement.

“The matter is already in the court and decision is pending,” he said.
