Over 200 Gurgaon residents run for a cleaner environment

Nearly 200 people participated in a run held in the city on Sunday to spread awareness about clean and green environment.

Nearly 200 people participated in a run held in the city on Sunday to spread awareness about clean and green environment. This was the 7th edition of ‘Save the earth run for a greener tomorrow’organised by Club Florence in association with running and living.com, a firm associated with running events.

The participants covered the Aravalli forest area. The event included a plantation drive by children at Club Florence in Sector 56 Sushant Lok-II. A painting competition was also held.

The marathon that was held in three categories— 5km, 10km and 21km—started and ended at Club Florence. The participants arrived at the venue at 5:30 am.

They took the Golf Course Extension road and entered Aravalli forest area from Kadarpur village and also covered Bhandwari village.

“Many like-minded corporate houses and individuals are associated with us and have been supporting the cause for seven years,” said Ajay Pandita, one of the organisers of the event.

Rahul Verghese, founder of running and living.com, said, “The marathon is organised every year and is important to us. Every year, the number of participants increases and more and more people are becoming aware about the cause of environment,” said Verghese.
