Palwal man alleges being hit by brick after his bike grazes car in Gurugram

Police said since no closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras are installed in the area, the accused could not be identified.

A real estate broker has alleged that he was hit by a brick and beaten up by two unidentified men in Sector 51 in a road rage incident on Saturday.

The victim, a Palwal resident, said in his complaint that the accused knocked him cold with a blow to his head with a brick after he tried to reason with them, police said.

Police said the victim, Pardeep Singh, received five stitches on his forehead.

The incident took place near a traffic signal, close to Artemis hospital in Sector 51, around 1.15am.

“The complainant was going towards his office from Sector 52 when his motorcycle allegedly grazed a white Maruti Ritz, which had a Haryana registration number. The complainant asked the person driving the vehicle to be careful,” assistant sub inspector Baljeet Singh said.

Singh, the investigating officer in the case, said the driver was offended and stepped out of the vehicle and started abusing the victim.

Pardeep Singh, the victim, said, “I dropped unconscious on the road for a few minutes. Later, I reported the matter to the police. The accused took the keys of my motorcycle.”

Police said the number of the car had been traced to Jind, Haryana and raids were on to arrest the accused.

The investigating officer said since no closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras are installed in the area, the accused could not be identified. He added that a case had been registered against the accused under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (common intention) of Indian Penal Code at Sector 50 police station.
