Parkview Dynamoz raring for victory in GIFA pre-qualifiers

The Hindustan Times Great Indian Football Action (HT GIFA) gives children of condominiums and residential sectors an opportunity to showcase their football talent each year. Park View Dynamoz, the junior team from Parkview City 1, a gated community in Sector 48, is looking to use the opportunity to the hilt in this year’s tournament.

The tournament begins next month and teams have been divided into junior and senior categories – Class 5 to 8 and Class 9 to 12.

In the pre-qualifiers on August 21, Park View Dynamoz beat opponents Palm Springs Galaticos with a scoreline of 2-0 in their favour. They are now eagerly awaiting their next encounter, when they play their first match in the tournament against OG Blasters on October 1.

“I can’t wait to get on the field and play the next game. GIFA is a great initiative to further excel in football skills and get valuable match practice,” said Sankalp Bhatia, a class 8 student who plays as a forward. He scored two goals in the last game.

For Sagar Thukral, a student of class 8, the tournament will help develop his skills as a midfielder.

Advait Mahadevan, another class 8 student, is an avid Barcelona supporter and wants to replicate the skills of his idols on the pitch.

“Barcelona has the world’s best strikers in Messi, Neymar and Suarez. Their chemistry and understanding of their style of play has been vital to their supremacy. Together with Sankalp, we will try to emulate the same and bring success to our team,” Advait said.
