Police told to give security to couple

A runaway couple, who married against the wishes of their parents, was given police protection as per directions of the court on Friday. Later, the couple was sent to a shelter home along with a security personnel.

A runaway couple, who married against the wishes of their parents, was given police protection as per directions of the court on Friday. Later, the couple was sent to a shelter home along with a security personnel.

This is the third such incident in the city this month.

Sameer (25), married Pranjali Angrish (22) in the Arya Samaj Mandir in Delhi on December 20.

On getting to know about the marriage, the girl’s parents allegedly started threatening the boy. “I wanted to marry Pranjali with the consent of her family. We waited for three years and at last, got married,” he said.

“The couple was scared and wanted police protection,” said the couple’s lawyer Durgesh Boken.
