Sector 62 residents in Gurgaon finally get grocery shop in their area

Days after HT reported the plight of residents in Sector 62, a long-standing demand of the 65 families living in Conscient Heritage One was finally fulfilled. A daily need shop opened inside the condominium on Saturday and a fresh vegetable shop has also been made operational in the basement.

Also, the streetlights in the area close to the condominium have been repaired by the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda). Residents also said that now policemen can be seen patrolling the area in the evening.

“We are happy that finally we have got the shop. Now we will not have to stop while returning from office to buy groceries. We had to spend half an hour extra for buying daily need items,” said Aruna Singh, a resident of the condominium.

The vegetable shop in the basement will be open from 6pm to 9pm every day.

“Now that streetlights are functional, we can go out for walks after dinner. Now we do not feel unsafe on road,” said Ritu Rathore, another resident of the society.

“Even to buy bread, butter and eggs, one had to spend Rs 100 on petrol. We had to travel to Sector 56,” said another resident.

At present, Conscient Heritage One is the only condominium in this sector. It is built over six acres. There are 286 apartments in the condominium and 65 of them are occupied for around eight months now.

The condominium is 4 km away from Golf Course Extension Road and approximately 6 km away from Sohna Road. Most of the residents of the condominium work in Delhi and Gurgaon and face a lot of troubles in commuting due to lack of local transport and poor connectivity.

Rohit Dhingra, the building head of Enviro Vatika Group, the maintenance agency of the condominium, said, “The shop delivers all daily need items and milk to the apartments, which is a huge relief for the residents. Huda repaired

the streetlights as soon as the report was published.”
