A recent high-level meeting of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), Huda, Delhi-Gurgaon Super Connectivity Ltd, zeroed in on Shankar Chowk as the spot for setting up a cloverleaf flyover.

Officials also agreed to build a flyover or an underpass between Shankar Chowk and Iffco Chowk, while an underpass is likely to come up at Hero Honda Chowk.

However, the officials of the stakeholder bodies are yet to thrash out the crucial cost-sharing issue. There has not been any meeting of minds on this issue so far.

The meeting, held on February 13 at New Delhi, was attended by AK Upadhyay, secretary (RT&H), Huda chief administrator DPS Nangal, Huda administrator Praveen Kumar and DCP (traffic) Bharti Arora.

The demand for underpasses, flyovers, widening of service lanes and slip roads etc has been gaining momentum.

“Though we have agreed to work on these facilities, the matter has been forwarded to consultants to check the feasibility of underpasses and flyovers,” said VL Patankar, member technical, NHAI.

“The technical experts have been asked to submit a report as early as possible,” said Patankar. “We also suggested increasing the number of toll gates at Sirhaul and Kherki Daula. The chairman agreed to it,” said the Huda administrator.

Meanwhile, another meeting is scheduled for Friday.
