Anurag Kashyap puts up gamchha show @Cannes

Day 7 of the Cannes Film Festival saw desi tadka on the red carpet.

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap teamed the traditional Indian cotton towel, gamchha with a Dior suit at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday. The filmmaker was there along with wife Kalki Koechlin for the screening of Kashyap’s two-part directorial venture, Gangs of Wasseypur, and his production, Peddlers.

But, what caught the spotlight and attention of many were the Bihari gamchhas worn by the male cast members of Gangs of Wasseypur for the film’s red carpet premiere. What further stole the show was when the Indian Pavillion at the gala was abuzz with the lurid lyrics of the song, Hunter from Gangs Of Wasseypur.
