Hangover star Bradley Cooper is trying his hand at scriptwriting, and his first project is a screenplay based on Dan Simmons’ hit Hyperion novels. The rights for the sci-fi series has been bought by producer Graham King for Warner Bros, and the actor recently handed over his first draft, reported Daily Star online.

“There’s this series of science-fiction novels called Hyperion by Dan Simmons. My friend and I went to Graham King, who owns the rights, and we wrote a treatment saying, ‘Look we know this is very audacious, but could you just read what we wrote? We think we have a way in to tell this story’,” Cooper said.
