The 67th edition of the Cannes Film Festival will have the awards ceremony on Saturday May 24, instead of May 25, because the European elections are scheduled for Sunday.

The Festival, on the sun-kissed French Riviera and arguably the queen of all, usually gives away the prizes on the 12th day, which this year falls on May 25.

The last movie in Competition (which normally has about 20 entries) will be screened on May 23, and the jury, headed by the Kiwi director, Jane Campion, will announce the award winners on May 24 at the Grand Theatre Lumiere.

The name of winners of the second most important section, A Certain Regard, will be out on May 23.

Repeat screenings of all films in the official line up will take place on May 24 and 25. The other members of the juries will be named later, and the complete list of movies will be announced three weeks before the Festival starts.
