Brad Pitt’s company produced Best Picture winner Moonlight, but the actor was missing from the Oscars. Here’s what he was busy doing.

Hollywood star Brad Pitt, whose company Plan B produced Oscar winning film Moonlight, did not attend the ceremony as he was reportedly busy sculpting.

Pitt was creating a sculpture at British artist Thomas Houseago’s Frogtown studio, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Houseago, a well-known sculptor has many fans, including Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Anthony Kiedis and Flea.

The source added that Pitt, who had been building a substantial art collection with ex-wife Angelina Jolie, had been at it for nearly 10 days.

Attempts to reach Houseago’s studio were unsuccessful. A representative for Pitt didn’t respond to a request for comment.

Sculptures aside, Pitt has plenty on his schedule. As an actor, he has wrapped shooting War Marchine for director David Michod, and he’s expected to reprise his role in WorldWar Z 2.
