Daniel Radcliffe’s post Harry Potter career has been diverse, to say the least. The actor has starred in gritty dramas, big budget sequels and quirky indies. His latest film, Beast of Burden, is about a drug mule coerced into working for the Drug Enforcement Agency in exchange of treatment for his ailing wife. The first trailer was released on Thursday.
The trailer comes just a few weeks ahead of the film’s February release - a very narrow window to promote what already appears to be a small scale movie.
Here’s the IMDb synopsis:
Sean Haggerty only has an hour to deliver his illegal cargo. An hour to reassure a drug cartel, a hitman, and the DEA that nothing is wrong. An hour to make sure his wife survives. And he must do it all from the cockpit of his Cessna.
The one-and-a-half minute trailer doesn’t make it seem as if the entire film is set inside the cockpit of a small plane. There are characters besides Sean who are introduced, and are referenced throughout the clip. There are also similarities to the recent Tom Cruise film, American Made, in which Cruise works as an undercover drug mule for the Medellin Cartel, run by Pablo Escobar, all the while pretending to be working for the CIA.
