The first trailer for the upcoming thriller Alex Cross, starring Tyler Perry of the Madea film franchise, was released June 25 online with plenty of action-packed drama.
The film is based on James Patterson's bestselling series of Alex Cross novels, a forensic psychologist and detective.
The actor/filmmaker takes a departure from his successful comedies to develop a new audience in a role that Morgan Freeman played in the films Kiss the Girls and Along Came a Spider.

Directed by Rob Cohen (The Fast and Furious), the film co-stars Matthew Fox (Lost), who portrays the psychotic man, as well as Edward Burns (Man on a Ledge) and Jean Reno (The DaVinci Code).The film opens in October in North America and Australia and follows in November in Brazil, Sweden, Hungary, the Netherlands and the UK.
