On the back of good reviews, How to Train your Dragon 2 managed a decent opening at the Indian box office even as it scored high worldwide. While the weekend collections in India stood at Rs 5.25 crore (according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh), worldwide the film earned $75 million.
This Dreamworks presentation lead the worldwide box office, with almost $75 million earned over the weekend, although the highly anticipated sequel failed to impress its US audiences to the same degree.

With almost $663 million in total since it came out, X-Men: Days Of Future Past continues to make money worldwide, as does Godzilla with $439 million earned so far. The nuclear monster could strike again in the coming weeks with its arrival in Chinese theaters. The film made $10.9 million on its Chinese release day, June 13, for one of the best debuts in China this year.
Angelina Jolie's Maleficent remains popular, scoring $56.2 million this weekend, with a total of $436 million since it was released, as does Tom Cruise's Edge Of Tomorrow, having made $53 million over the weekend for cumulative global revenues of $237 million.
