‘Mud’ on the red carpet

Day 11 of the Cannes Film Festival saw the last two screenings.

High on content and glam — the last but one day of the 65th Cannes International Film Festival saw the screening of director Jeff Nichols’ drama Mud, and also South Korean film, The Taste of Money — both competing for the Palme d’Or at today’s final ceremony.

A very pregnant Reese Witherspoon, 36, arrived in a baby bump-enhancing Versace LBD for the Mud photo op before walking the red carpet in a sapphire gown. Her co-star Matthew McConaughey, two of whose films — Mud and The Paperboy — are competing for the top prize, looked happy and smiling. However, to everyone’s surprise the spotlight was stolen by Nichols, who charmed the media with his emotional verbose at Mud’s news conference.
