Murder on the Orient Express: First images of Hercule Poirot, Johnny Depp roll in

The first images from the latest adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express, starring Kenneth Branagh, Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz and several others, have arrived.

The first images of Murder on the Orient Express were released in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, and show iconic detective Hercule Poirot (played by Kenneth Branagh) and other cast members in the star-studded adaptation of Agatha Christie’s seminal novel.

Murder on the Orient Express is expected to roll into theatres on November 10.

Branagh (who also directs the film) joins an esteemed list of actors who’ve played the Belgian detective on screen. He was played in the long-running TV show by David Suchet, in Sidney Lumet’s 1974 adaptation of the same book by Albert Finney, and in several films by Peter Ustinov.

The film also stars Daisy Ridley, Johnny Depp, Josh Gad, Judi Dench, Michelle Pfeiffer, Penelope Cruz and others. The images show the characters in the famous luxury train after a snow storm causes it to halt its journey. It is then that a murder happens and everyone becomes a suspect.

Agatha Christie’s novels have sold over 2 billion copies. The film is expected to roll into theatres on November 10.
