Producer Jerry Bruckheimer told Hollywood Reporter that the film, which was expected to go into production in 2014, was delayed due to issues with the script and budget, the BBC reported.

Bruckheimer, however, asserted that he was now targeting a summer 2016 release. He added that his cast and crew have an outline they love, but the script is not done, and he wants a script that everyone is happy with.
