It seems the ultimate MI 6 agent James Bond has got a solid fan base in Indians. The latest Bond flick Spectre has opened to packed houses in India. As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Spectre has garnered more than Rs 23 crore in its first weekend.
However, the producers of the film, Eon Productions, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment, claims that the film has earned more than Rs 31.90 crore in its first weekend. “We are very happy that ‘Spectre’ opening in India is mirroring its global success. The film was hugely anticipated and the ‘masala’ action film has connected with audiences across India. The weekend box office numbers are proof of that and we are sure that James Bond will continue entertaining audiences in weeks to come,” said Vivek Krishnani, managing director, Sony Pictures India, as per a statement.

{{/usCountry}}The 24th film of the Bond series, Spectre marks the return of Daniel Craig as the suave, Oxford educated agent who likes his martini shaken and not stirred. Spectre also features the Oscar winner actor Christoph Waltz as the villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld.
The new film also has Italian actor Monica Bellucci (51) who has simply refused to look her age. Director Sam Mendes used the budget of close to $245 million in making Spectre one of the most expensive films ever made in Hollywood.
