Alexander Payne's The Descendants bagged the Golden Globe award in the best motion picture - drama category.
The movie, about a land baron who tries to reconnect with his two daughters after his wife suffers a boating accident, features George Clooney, Judy Greer, Shailene Woodley and Amara Miller.
It pipped other nominations in the category - The Help, Hugo, The Ides Of March, Moneyball and War Horse.
