The 42-year-old actor is in negotiations to play the cast in DreamWorks' forthcoming version of the movie, which was released last July, reported Contactmusic.

Vaughn would play a middle-aged man who discovers he has fathered 533 children through sperm donation.

The Wedding Crashers star will then decide whether to give up his anonymity and come out in open as his offsprings desire to meet their father, who was codenamed Starbuck.

Ken Scott, who made the original Starbuck, will write and direct the comedy with producer Andre Rouleau.

Vaughn will soon be seen in two comedies. The alien invasion tale The Watch and gambling movie Lay the Favorite.
