As the India versus Pakistan battle gets nearer, the fanatics Indians have stormed the social media urging the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Indian cricket team to boycott their match against Pakistan in the Champions Trophy opener at Birmingham on Sunday.
The cricketing rivals are set to play in the ICC Champions Trophy under the backdrop of heavy cross border tension and Indian soldiers martyred in recent times.

India’s ace doubles badminton player Jwala Gutta took to Twitter to respond to the boycott messages that has flooded her timeline. “Boycotting n banning is not the answer...play for the country and winning is the only way,” she tweeted on Sunday morning.
India opener Gautam Gambhir, who has had one of the epic face off with Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi, took the Indian army route to root for Team India. “Where is your soldier-selfie? Here is mine. Both of us will be praying for an India win today,” Gambhir tweeted with a selfie with Major Gaurav Arya.

In April, Gambhir, through his Hindustan Times column, had announced bearing the entire expenses of education of the children of Indian soldiers martyred in the Sukma Maoist attack in Chhattisgarh. His team, Kolkata Knight Riders, also played their IPL match with black arm bands.
