17 days later, mother turns up to meet Dera chief Ram Rahim in Rohtak jail
As per alphabetical order, Ram Rahim’s family members can meet him either on Mondays or Thursdays.
Almost 17 days after he was rewarded a 20-year jail term for raping two of his female disciples, Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim had his first visitor in Rohtak’s Sunariya jail in form of his mother, Naseeb Kaur.
The Dera chief had given names of 10 family members to jail authorities for meeting. The names included his son Jasmit and adopted daughter Honeypreet, who has been hiding ever since he was convicted as Haryana Police issued look out notices for her.
Naseeb Kaur came alone with driver Iqbad in a Rajasthan number car at around 3 pm on Thursday. She carried several polybags, what looked like were clothes and food for Ram Rahim. Her car was frisked by the security persons before letting her enter the jail premises. She stayed with Ram Rahim for around a half-an-hour.
As per alphabetical order, Ram Rahim’s family members can meet him either on Mondays or Thursdays. Since he is a convict, he is only allowed one meeting a week as per jail manual. Sources said after showing antics in the initial days, he has now maintained a low profile in jail.
