A 38-year-old man and his sister were killed, while another person was injured after a bear attacked them in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district on Wednesday, forest officials said.

The incident took place in the afternoon in Largaon Markatola village under the Narharpur forest range when the three siblings were working in a field.
The deceased were identified as Halal Khor Jurri and his elder sister Chamrin Bai (40). Their younger sister, Khorin Bai (30), sustained injuries and was admitted to a hospital in Kanker.
Forest department personnel visited the spot after receiving information about the attack.
According to local villagers, the female bear had become unusually aggressive after one of her cubs died on Tuesday.

Villagers have been advised to stay away from the area as a precaution.
