The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is expected to take up issues such as employment and economic growth including coalition of opposition parties that are likely to emerge as challenges for the 2024 general elections, in the upcoming national executive committee meeting in the national Capital.
The two-day meeting is expected to take place between January 16 and 17.
The party is expected to pass a resolution on economic and political affairs, but this time a roadshow of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also being planned, a person familiar with the development said.
“The party usually organises programmes to fete the PM after assembly polls. These are done at the party headquarters and sometimes to coincide with big events... this time too we are planning a road show on January 16,” said the functionary.

Though the BJP won the Gujarat assembly polls with a historic mandate, it failed to retain power in Himachal Pradesh and in the Delhi municipal corporation elections.

The party could appoint a new president in Bihar where it is aiming to increase its vote share and seat tally in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls as well as the state elections in 2025, a functionary aware of the development added.
After breaking ties with the Janata Dal United (JDU), the BJP will be contesting both the elections on its own.
“The process of electing new district presidents has begun, this will be followed by changes at the state level,” said a second functionary.
Changes are also in the offing in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh where a section of state leaders are pushing for a new face to lead the state in elections.
“Various issues related to the organisation, such as the strengthening of booth committees, taking stock of the work that has been undertaken in the 160 Lok Sabha constituencies that have been identified by the party as areas that need more attention will also come up for discussion,” the second functionary said.
