The commission reportedly took this decision after the AIMIM did not respond to notices sent to the party asking it to submit the reports.
The cancellation of the registration essentially means that the commission has barred AIMIM from contesting the state civic polls.
AIMIM is in news for remarks made by its leaders over the ongoing controversy surrounding Islamic preacher Zakir Naik. AIMIM accused the media of distorting the facts related to Naik for their own convenience.
