Chief economic adviser Arvind Subramanian was in for a rude shock on Monday as his Twitter handle was hacked and a link to an adult dating site was shared with his followers.

The account was subsequently restored and all objectionable content was deleted.
The recent hack comes about a month after the Twitter accounts of leading industrialist Ratan Tata and Trai chairman RS Sharma were compromised.

In a similar attack, hackers posted objectionable content making fun of Trai chairman on Twitter after hacking his account.
Subramanian, who joined the popular social networking platform in September 2011, has about 43,000 followers.
