The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Tuesday announced that a few gates in some Metro stations may be closed as part of security measures due to the farmers' ‘Delhi Chalo’ protest march. However, the DMRC said that the stations are operational.
As per the DMRC, gates at these metro stations might be shut.

“Commuters are advised to plan their journey accordingly. Further update on station closures (if any) shall be intimated,” the DMRC added in a post.

Farmers from Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh marched in large numbers to the national capital to press their demands. The farmers were stopped at the Punjab-Haryana Shambhu border where the police fired tear gas on the protesters.

The police have set up concrete slabs, iron nail, barricades and barbed wires to prevent the farmers from entering the capital.
"11 companies deployed here. We are ensuring that there is no law and order situation here and citizens do not face any trouble in commuting. As of now, there is no march towards the Tikri border (with Delhi), but the situation is dynamic and we are monitoring it using various sources": SP Jhajjar Arpit Jain told ANI.

DCP Dwarka Ankit Singh, told the agency, “Secc 144 CrPC is imposed in the city, tractor trolleys are not allowed in the city. Social media monitoring has also been done. Drone is an effective tool for security monitoring, we will use it”.
The Delhi-Noida and Delhi-Ghaziabad borders were hit by long traffic jams due to the protest. The authorities had banned goods-carrying vehicles from entering Delhi via the Greater Noida Expressway.
