Two coaches of Andhra Pradesh AC Express catch fire near Gwalior

Fire tenders were rushed to the spot and passengers were evacuated.

A fire damaged two coaches of Andhra Pradesh AC Superfast Express near Birlanagar station in Gwalior on Monday, officials said. There are no reports of any casualty.

The fire was detected in the B-6 coach around 11.50 a.m. It then spread to the B-7 coach, Ved Prakash, a Railway Ministry spokesperson said.

Following the fire, the guard stopped the train and shifted the passengers of the B-6 and B-7 coaches to other coaches. The train then proceeded to Gwalior, he said.

The train was going from Hazrat Nizamuddin station in New Delhi to Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
