He said, “Indian diaspora across the world have put their faith in resurgent India. They became ambassadors of a new India.”

He highlighted that the push from Indian diaspora led to the world understanding India’s viewpoint in the right spirit.

PM Modi while addressing the IIT 2020 Global Summit also said that under the NDA government every sector is seeing large scale reforms. He said, “There is no sector left out from our reforms. Agriculture, atomic energy, defence, education, healthcare, infrastructure, finance, banking, taxation, the list goes on. We have brought path-breaking reforms in the labour sector, assimilating 44 Union labour laws into just four codes. Our corporate tax rate is one of the lowest in the world.”

The prime minister also highlighted how India used the pandemic as an opportunity to rethink its ways of doing business and referring to how India managed to attract investment during Covid-19.

Modi said, “I urge you to debate, discuss and contribute to solutions in the emerging new world. The responsibility is heavy but I know that your shoulders are capable.”

This year’s theme for IIT 2020 Global Summit is ‘The Future is Now’. Members of IIT alumni will discuss issues concerning global economy, technology, climate change and universal education.

PM Modi also encouraged the attendees to contribute to the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan and said that the IIT alumni can steer the nation towards becoming self-reliant. He also said that the IIT alumnus has set a ‘higher benchmark on giving back to India.’
