Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath took potshots at the Congress and Samajwadi Party alliance that lost to the Bharatiya Janata Party in recently held assembly elections, saying it appeared they failed as he stepped in between Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav.

“I am a year younger to Rahul Gandhi and a year older to Akhilesh Yadav. Maybe they failed as I stepped in between the two,” Adityanath said in the Lok Sabha.
He said in the Lok Sabha that there will be no corruption and communal riots in Uttar Pradesh under his government.
The newly elected Uttar Pradesh CM, who was sworn in on Sunday, still has time to resign from his Lok Sabha membership. His speech on Tuesday was widely seen as his farewell speech to this Lok Sabha.
The UP CM insisted that the state will be given a new model of development, even as he effusively praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
