The Enforcement Directorate (ED) was granted custody of Kashmiri separatist leader Shabir Shah for one more day by a Delhi court on Wednesday. Shah was presented before the court on the expiry of his seven-day custody.Sources in ED said that Director Karnal Singh is likely to interrogate Shah in person.

The Leader of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) was arrested from Srinagar on July 25 in connection to a money laundering case dating back to 2005.
According to official sources, Shah has so far denied his role in money laundering prompting ED to dig out details of the properties owned by him and his wife. A senior ED official said that the probe agency has already communicated with the Income tax department and sought financial records and investment details of Kashmir separatist leader. Sources also added that raids on locations and premises belonging to Shah are likely to place in order to recover incriminating documents if any.
The ED case against Shah goes back to 2005 the year in which one Aslam Wani was arrested by the special cell of Delhi Police. Delhi police had claimed that Wani was arrested along with Rs 63 lakh out of which Rs 50 lakh were to be delivered to Shah.
