A 30-year-old man thrashed and chocked his six-year-old daughter to death with an onion after she failed to recite English alphabet in proper order, police said on Tuesday.

On Saturday night, Sanjay Kute, decided to test his daughter Bharati Kute by asking her to recite the 26 letters in the English language.
When she failed to do so, he beat her up and punished her by shoving an onion inside her throat.
Bharati chocked and died infront of her horrified mother and two-year old brother, investigating officer S B Rathore said.
Later, Kute attempted to hide his crime by taking Bharati’s body to a secluded space and quietly disposing it off.
The weeping mother later contacted her relatives and after discussions lodged a police complaint against Kute.
“We arrested the accused on Monday night and he will be produced before a court later today (Tuesday),” Rathore told IANS.
The child’s body has been recovered and the remains were sent for an autopsy, she added.
