Over 1600 pregnant women set a world record by practising yoga in Gujarat’s Rajkot on the second International Yoga Day on Tuesday.

One thousand six hundred and thirty two pregnant women performed together at the Swaminarayan Temple premises under the guidance of a trained instructor and in the presence of a medical team.
The previous record was set in China where more than 900 pregnant women had taken part in a yoga session earlier this month.
Nearly 1.25 crore people took part in the Yoga Day celebrations held at around 40,000 venues across the state.
Chief Minister Anandiben Patel along with governor OP Kohli and many other religious and spiritual leaders were present at state-level celebration held at GMDC ground in Ahmedabad.
The CM practised ‘asanas’ for almost 40 minutes along with more than 30,000 participants, including IPS and IAS officers, MLAs, corporators and BJP leaders.
Union Health Minister JP Nadda participated in a yoga session held at Nikol area of the city.
In his recorded message, played before the mass demonstration of ‘Common Yoga Protocol’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his best wishes to the participants.
