• One-third of the seats in Lok Sabha (the Lower House of Parliament), Vidhan Sabhas (state legislative assemblies), and the Delhi assembly will be reserved for women.
• One-third of the seats will be allocated to women from Scheduled Tribes (ST) or Scheduled Castes (SC) communities.
• Implementation will occur following a delimitation exercise.
• The proposed reservation is set to be effective for a duration of 15 years.
This special session of Parliament will continue till Friday. During the session, a total of up to eight bills are scheduled for deliberation and approval.
