Along with major rejig in Delhi, governors of several other states were also changed with Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi replacing CV Ananda Bose in West Bengal. Lt Gen Syed Ata Hasnain (retd) has been named as new governor of Bihar.

Bose tendered his resignation earlier in the day which was accepted by President Droupadi Murmu, news agency PTI reported, citing a communique issued by her office.

Who is Taranjit Singh Sandhu?
Former diplomat, Sandhu is an Indian Foreign Service officer and has served in the Indian Mission in Washington DC twice. Sandhu was also the high commissioner of India to Sri Lanka from January 2017 to January 2020. He had also served at the High Commission of India, Colombo earlier as the head of the political wing from December 2000 to September 2004.
Sandhu had contested the Lok Sabha elections from Amritsar in 2024 on a BJP ticket which he lost.
