Three militants and an army soldier were killed in an encounter in the forests of Bandipore in north Kashmir.

The Army had launched an operation in the forests of Chandji around seven kilometres from Bandipore town on Thursday.

On Friday, two soldiers were injured in the operation and one of the soldier succumbed to his injuries.
Army spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia confirmed the killing of three militants in the operation and added that the operation was still on.
The area where the operation is underway is located between Bandipore and Gurez and is covered by dense forests. The militants have been using these as a transit point.
This is the third operation launched by the forces in the forests of Chandaji in the past two months.
