‘Verbal belligerence’ no substitute for policy, action: Opposition targets Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi came under attack from opposition parties on Saturday for “verbal belligerence” during his speech at a Bharatiya Janata Party meet in Kozhikode, Kerala.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi came under attack from opposition parties on Saturday for “verbal belligerence” during his speech at a Bharatiya Janata Party meet in Kozhikode, Kerala.

“Prime Minister is only shooting the breeze. He is trying to hide the inefficiency of his government behind rhetoric,” Congress leader Manish Tewari told IANS.
The Congress leader’s remarks came after the Prime Minister targeted Pakistan in his speech in Kozhikode at the BJP’s National Council meet.
Modi accused Pakistan of exporting terrorism, saying that “There is one country in Asia which wants bloodbath in Asia”.
Modi has also said that there is anger in India post the September 18 Uri terror attack and that the sacrifices of the 18 soldiers killed would not be forgotten.
The CPI-M also trained its guns on the BJP-led central government, saying it lacked concrete policies to deal with the Pakistan and Kashmir issues.
“The Prime Minister believes only in rhetoric, we have seen and heard him saying these things during the 2014 Lok Sabha polls and are hearing it again. It seems Modi believes he is still in the opposition because we have heard only words... where is the action?” Communist Party of India-Marxist poliburo member Mohammad Salim said.
Salim also questioned the government’s efficacy in dealing with such attacks.
“Post the Pathankot attack we have seen similar posturing by the Modi government and now after the Uri attack, they are once again doing the same. Does this government have any concrete policy regarding Pakistan and Kashmir?” Salim said.
He said the government will have to “come out with definitive plans and policies regarding Pakistan and Kashmir”.
